Maine Lumber Mill Explosion Injures 10, Firefighters Among the Injured
An explosion and subsequent fire at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, Maine, resulted in injuries to at least 10 people, including firefighters. The fire, which began around 10 a.m., remains active, and the cause is still unknown. The Thorndike Fire Department reported that multiple fire trucks were lost to the blaze. Maine Medical Center in Portland is preparing to receive 10 patients, as it is the state's only Level 1 trauma center. Robbins Lumber, a family-owned business since 1881, has confirmed that all employees are accounted for. The incident has drawn attention from state officials, including Maine Governor Janet Mills and Senator Susan Collins, who have expressed their support for those affected.
