Urgent Search Underway for Missing Jet Ski Rider in Palm Beach County's Lake Osborne
An urgent search operation is currently underway in Lake Osborne, Palm Beach County, Florida, for an adult male who went missing from a jet ski on Sunday evening. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the individual was operating a boat from John Prince Park when, shortly after entering the water, the jet ski was observed floating without anyone on board. The search commenced around 8 p.m. on Sunday. Both the FWC and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) are actively involved in the search efforts. Authorities are utilizing three different types of sonar technology to aid in locating the missing person, as visibility in Lake Osborne is poor and its depth varies significantly, ranging from approximately one to 25 feet. The incident has drawn comments from local residents, including Yilena Ortiz, who noted the unusual nature of the event given the common recreational use of the lake.
