The Village of Newark and the Alex Eligh Community Center have unveiled plans for a new regional health and wellness campus in Wayne County, New York. The project, estimated to cost $22 million, is part of a broader regional revitalization effort. ESL has secured the naming rights for the campus, which will be called the 'ESL Health and Wellness Campus' for the next 25 years, at a cost of $2 million. The campus will be situated between Van Buren Street and Siegrist Street and will feature two main buildings. The first building, expected to be completed in 2027, will house Lattimore Physical Therapy. The second building, named the 'Alex Eligh Community Center,' is slated for completion in 2028 and will include a variety of facilities such as a 6-lane indoor track, an indoor turf field, courts for multiple sports, fitness equipment, and multipurpose rooms for community activities.
