Born in 1946, he excelled in basketball during his school years and later served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning several commendations. After his military service, McGrath pursued a legal career, working on political campaigns and practicing law in California. He was deeply involved with his family and enjoyed traveling, particularly to Oregon and Lake Ariel. His funeral services are scheduled to include a Mass of Christian Burial and military honors.
