Woodside Fire Smoke Impacts Sacramento Valley Air Quality
Smoke from the Woodside Fire in Sonoma County, California, is affecting air quality across parts of Northern California, including Sacramento, Yuba, Solano, and Yolo counties. The fire, which has burned 143 acres and is 30% contained as of 7 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, is producing smoke that is being transported by southwest onshore flow. Residents in the Sacramento Valley reported smelling or seeing smoke early Friday morning. The smoke is expected to linger throughout the afternoon and may intensify overnight as onshore flow increases.
