President Trump Establishes Food Security Task Forces to Address Grocery Prices

These task forces are designed to tackle issues such as price-fixing, anti-competitive behavior, and foreign influence that are believed to increase grocery prices and threaten the security of the U.S. food supply. The task forces are empowered to enforce actions and propose new rules to curb anti-competitive practices. The Attorney General has been instructed to pursue criminal proceedings, including grand jury investigations, if evidence of criminal collusion is found. This initiative is part of President Trump's efforts to fulfill a campaign promise to lower grocery prices, a promise that has not yet been realized despite his administration being in power for over ten months.
