Garden Grove Aerospace Company Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Chemical Incident Impacting Residents
A class action lawsuit has been filed against GKN Aerospace by two residents of Garden Grove, California, following a chemical incident that led to the evacuation of approximately 50,000 people. The lawsuit, filed by X-Law Group, P.C. and Presidio Law Firm LLP, accuses the company of negligence and liability for ultrahazardous activity. The incident began when a pressurized storage tank containing 6,000 to 7,000 gallons of methyl methacrylate overheated, emitting vapors and posing a risk of explosion. The Orange County Fire Authority reported that the tank's internal temperature was rising, prompting ongoing efforts to cool it and prevent a leak. The plaintiffs claim damages for property damage, evacuation-related harm, and interference with the use and enjoyment of their property.
