High Winds Cause Fatal Tree Collapse During Easter Event in Germany
In a tragic incident in northern Germany, high winds caused a tree to fall during an Easter egg hunt, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a 10-month-old girl. The event took place near the town of Satrupholm, where approximately 50 people from a residential facility for new mothers, pregnant women, and children were gathered. The tree, measuring about 30 meters (100 feet), fell on the group, pinning four people underneath. A 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl died at the scene, while the infant succumbed to injuries later in the hospital. An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital. The German weather service had issued a high winds warning for the area.
