The committee's report, released on Monday, detailed Edwards' persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct towards two female staffers. The report highlighted that Edwards sent personal texts and spent thousands on gifts such as jewelry, designer purses, and vacations for the staffers. Despite Edwards' denial of any romantic or sexual intent, the report emphasized the power imbalance and the discomfort his actions caused. The committee's findings come in the wake of resignations by Reps. Tony Gonzales and Eric Swalwell earlier this year over similar allegations, prompting a bipartisan call for reform in handling sexual misconduct in the House.
