Pittsburgh Faces Potential Severe Storms and Northern Lights Viewing Opportunity
The Pittsburgh area is experiencing a stretch of dry weather, but this could change with the potential for severe storms over the weekend. The forecast indicates that Saturday may bring frequent lightning, downpours, and gusty winds, with the highest storm chance in the afternoon to evening. Additionally, there is a possibility of viewing the Northern Lights due to recent coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the sun. The Space Prediction Center forecasts a G3-level storm, which could allow the Northern Lights to be visible as far south as Pittsburgh. Residents are advised to seek out dark areas and look north for the best chance of seeing the lights.
