Cane-9 Rescue Sanctuary Operators Face Felony Animal Cruelty Charges in Georgia and Tennessee
Jennifer and Joshua Caneup, operators of Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary, are facing felony animal cruelty charges following investigations into their multi-state animal rescue organization. The organization, which pulled approximately 250 dogs from metro Atlanta shelters over an eight-month period, allegedly housed animals in filthy, hazardous conditions across residential properties in Douglas County, Georgia, and Cheatham County, Tennessee. Investigators found dead animals and dozens more suffering from severe neglect, including one puppy that starved to death and another dog that lost an eye due to lack of medical care.
