President Trump signed an executive order in April directing federal agencies to accelerate research and review processes for psychedelic therapies, including ibogaine. The initiative has garnered support from veterans' advocates and public figures like Joe Rogan, who have highlighted ibogaine's potential benefits for addiction treatment. However, researchers caution that while ibogaine shows promise, it also poses significant safety risks, including potential heart problems.
