Louisiana Office of Tourism Seeks Information Counselor to Promote State Attractions
The Louisiana Office of Tourism is actively seeking a Tourism Information Counselor 1 (WAE) to join its team. This part-time position, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12-month period, is based at the Pearl River Welcome Center in Pearl River, Louisiana. The primary responsibilities of the role include greeting and assisting the traveling public, providing general and detailed information on Louisiana's attractions, tours, restaurants, parks, museums, and events. The counselor will also distribute maps and brochures, ensure brochure racks are well-stocked, and work with colleagues to gather and update information on current activities and tourism-related businesses. The position requires strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office Suite and Outlook, and responsible internet usage for research.
