Tornado Warning Issued in Texas as Severe Storms Threaten Multiple States
A tornado warning was issued for Jack County in north-central Texas after a tornado was spotted in Montague County. The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned of a volatile weather setup across the Southern Plains, predicting multiple rounds of dangerous storms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. The NWS Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of North Texas and neighboring areas under a higher-end risk due to strong instability, abundant Gulf moisture, and an approaching weather system. The warning, issued at 3:35 p.m. CDT, advised residents to take immediate cover, especially in areas like Jacksboro, Fort Richardson State Park, and Lake Bridgeport. The storm could produce a tornado along with half-dollar-sized hail, posing risks such as flying debris and damage to structures and vehicles.
