Fall River Middle School Students Win History Award at Boston Showcase
A team of sixth-grade students from Morton Middle School in Fall River, Massachusetts, has been recognized for their outstanding historical project at the 2026 One8 Applied Learning Showcase held in Boston. The event, which took place at The TRACK at New Balance, featured projects from students across Massachusetts focusing on STEM, civics, history, and applied learning. The Fall River team, consisting of students Cora Farias, Keliany Vieira, Michael Louime, and Sophia Santos, presented a project titled 'Ancient African Societies' as part of their Investigating History curriculum. Their work was guided by social studies instructional coach Soklim Chhean. The project was praised for its creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, persistence, and presentation skills, earning them the Winning Project award for Investigating History.
