U.S. Indicts Ukrainian Woman for Alleged Role in Russian-Backed Cyberattacks on Critical Infrastructure
A Ukrainian national, Victoria Eduardovna Dubranova, has been charged in the United States for her alleged involvement with two Russian-backed hacktivist groups, CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn (CARR) and NoName057(16). These groups are accused of conducting cyberattacks on critical infrastructure in the U.S. and allied nations. Dubranova, who was extradited to the U.S. earlier this year, faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to damage protected computers and tampering with public water systems. The groups, reportedly supported by Russia's military intelligence unit GRU, have been linked to attacks on U.S. election infrastructure, water systems, and a meat processing facility in Los Angeles. The U.S. government has announced rewards for information on individuals associated with these groups.
