Loganville High School Mourns 16-Year-Old Football Player's Death After Health Battle
Loganville High School, located in the Atlanta area, is grieving the loss of 16-year-old Gunnar Redding Bible, a football player who passed away following a prolonged struggle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, pneumonia, and lupus. The school announced his death on social media, highlighting his courage and the impact he had on the community. Gunnar's mother, Teresa Redding, had previously shared that her son was admitted to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta hospital, where he was diagnosed with these severe health conditions. Despite being an athlete all his life, Gunnar became unable to move his limbs and was reliant on a respirator. The community rallied to support the family, raising over $7,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to help with medical expenses. A balloon release was organized at Loganville High School to honor Gunnar's memory.
