Houston Mourns the Loss of Community Icon Georgia Provost
Georgia Provost, a beloved Houston entrepreneur, photographer, and mentor, passed away at the age of 85. Known for her deep ties to the Third Ward community and Texas Southern University (TSU), Provost operated Provost Studios with her son, capturing thousands of subjects over the years. She was a TSU alumna and a recipient of the university’s first Presidential Service Award. Provost was also active in local politics and community service, leaving a lasting impact on those she mentored and supported.
