Yonkers Police Arrest Two Mount Vernon Men in Separate Shoplifting Incidents at Macy's Cross County Center
Yonkers police have arrested two Mount Vernon men in connection with separate shoplifting incidents that occurred on the same day at the Macy's in Cross County Center. On September 18, 45-year-old Michael Silvera allegedly attempted to leave the store with over $300 worth of unpaid merchandise. He was apprehended after fleeing the store. Later that same day, 25-year-old Davon Mallory allegedly stole merchandise from the same Macy's location and also attempted to evade officers, leading to a foot chase before his arrest. Both arrests were captured on Yonkers police body camera footage. According to the Yonkers Police Department, citywide larcenies have seen an 8% decrease. Silvera and Mallory have each been charged with petit larceny, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.
