Air China Direct Flights Expected to Boost Chinese Tourism in Iceland
Air China is set to launch direct flights to Iceland, a move anticipated to significantly increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country. The Icelandic tourism industry expects this development to enhance visitor numbers, particularly during the winter, autumn, and spring seasons, when Chinese tourists have traditionally been a key demographic. The managing director of the Icelandic Travel Industry Association, Jóhannes Þór Skúlason, highlighted that Chinese tourists were among the most important winter visitors before recent disruptions. The introduction of direct flights could potentially double the number of Chinese visitors, spreading arrivals more evenly throughout the year.
