Zelenskyy Reports 55,000 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Conflict with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died in the ongoing conflict with Russia. This figure is significantly lower than estimates from a U.S. think tank, which suggested up to 140,000 Ukrainian troop deaths. The conflict remains a war of attrition along a 1,000-kilometer front line, with both sides using drones and missiles. Civilian casualties have also increased, with nearly 15,000 Ukrainian civilians killed since the war began. Despite ongoing peace talks, no major breakthroughs have been achieved, although a recent prisoner exchange was agreed upon.
