Prestige Brand Holdings Recalls 40,000 Bottles of Clear Eyes Eye Drops Over Sterility Concerns
Prestige Brand Holdings has voluntarily recalled nearly 40,000 bottles of its Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief eye drops across the United States. The recall, classified as a Class II recall by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is due to a “lack of assurance of sterility.” This classification indicates a moderate-risk situation where exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote. The affected product consists of 15ml bottles with lot code 2552A and an expiration date of September 30, 2027. These eye drops, distributed by Medtech Products Inc., a Prestige Consumer Healthcare company, are marketed to relieve redness, itching, burning, and watery eyes. Consumers are advised to discontinue use and return the product for a refund.
