Three Family Members Die in Head-On Collision with Semi-Truck in Duchesne County, Utah
Three members of the same family were killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on US 40 in Duchesne County, Utah, on Friday afternoon. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 2:12 p.m. near milepost 82. According to investigators, a 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling eastbound when it drifted off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. The driver then overcorrected, causing the semi to cross into the westbound lanes and collide directly with a 2023 Kia hatchback. All three occupants of the Kia, identified as a 52-year-old woman driving, a 42-year-old man in the front passenger seat, and an 18-year-old man in the rear passenger-side seat, died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
