Warren County Public Health Identifies Housing, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse as Key Priorities
Warren County, New York, has released its “Community Health Assessment” and “Community Health Improvement Plan for 2025-2030,” identifying critical public health challenges despite ranking among healthier upstate counties. Senior Community Health Educator Dan Durkee stated that the county’s overall health faces significant headwinds from housing costs and availability, mental illness, substance abuse, and an aging population. The planning group, which included Glens Falls Hospital and other health providers, prioritized housing stability and affordability, anxiety, stress, mental health, prevention of substance abuse and overdoses, and childhood behavioral health.
