Washington State Weather: Unpredictable Conditions Affecting Road Safety
In Washington state, the unpredictable weather is a significant factor in road safety, particularly for motorcyclists. Lane splitting, which involves riding a motorcycle between lanes of traffic, is illegal in Washington, unlike in some other states such as California. The Revised Code of Washington prohibits motorcyclists from riding between lanes or overtaking vehicles in the same lane. Despite the potential benefits of reducing traffic congestion and avoiding rear-end collisions, the risks associated with lane splitting in Washington's weather conditions are deemed too high.
