Canyon Road Fire in Logan Forces Evacuations and Damages Property
A wildfire, named the Canyon Road Fire, broke out late Friday near Logan, Utah, prompting the evacuation of at least 100 residents near Utah State University (USU). The fire, which burned approximately 30 acres by Saturday afternoon, caused damage to multiple structures and vehicles. The fire's origin was identified as spontaneous combustion on the far east side of its perimeter, according to Utah Fire Info. Evacuation orders were issued within a 1.5-mile radius around 600 East and Canyon Road, with residents advised to leave immediately. By Saturday evening, the fire was reported to be 50% contained, and all residents were allowed to return home. No injuries were reported, but a home, eight vehicles, and a small outbuilding were damaged.
