McKenzie County Invests in Workforce and Housing to Enhance Quality of Life
McKenzie County is making significant investments in workforce development, housing, and quality of life improvements. The county has committed $5 million to the Bakken Area Skills Center endowment fund to support high-demand job training programs. Additionally, the county's Job Development Authority has allocated $500,000 to a healthcare training facility to address staffing shortages. Housing initiatives include a $4 million down payment assistance program to support homebuyers, with plans to explore senior housing solutions. Infrastructure projects, such as the expansion of U.S. Highway 85, are also underway to improve transportation. These efforts aim to support the county's projected job growth and enhance community sustainability.
