Virginia Restaurant Wine Heist Leads to New Charges Against Suspects
A Virginia restaurant was the scene of a high-profile theft involving $38,000 worth of pinot noir. The suspects, identified as Nikola Krndija, a Serbian national, and Natali Ray from England, allegedly executed the theft by disguising themselves in wigs and distracting the sommelier. Krndija reportedly used a specially designed overcoat with interior compartments to conceal the stolen wine bottles. While Krndija managed to escape and is believed to have fled to Serbia, Ray was apprehended and remains in custody. Both suspects face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit grand larceny and possession of burglary tools, which in this case include the disguises and the overcoat.
