Massachusetts State Trooper Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Identified
A tragic incident occurred on Route 1 in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, where a wrong-way crash resulted in the death of a Massachusetts State Trooper. The trooper, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Trainor, was responding to a call about a wrong-way driver when his cruiser was struck by a Jeep driven by 50-year-old Hernan Ramon Marrero. The crash happened around 2 a.m., and both Trainor and Marrero were pronounced dead, with Trainor succumbing to his injuries at Massachusetts General Hospital. Governor Maura Healey and Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble praised Trainor for his heroic actions, which they believe prevented further tragedy. Trainor, a graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Academy, was remembered as a dedicated public servant.
