Montgomery County Detectives Arrest Porter Man in Fatal Hit-and-Run on U.S. 59
Montgomery County sheriff's investigators have arrested Jeremy Michael Buckner, a 35-year-old resident of Porter, Texas, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident on U.S. Highway 59. The arrest follows an investigation that began on May 7, when the Splendora Police Department responded to a report of a deceased man on the highway. The victim, identified as Gary Belvin, was found dead at the scene, and initial evidence suggested he was struck by a vehicle that fled. Major Crimes detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were called in to assist with the investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of Buckner. He is currently held in the Montgomery County Jail, charged with collision involving injury or death, a second-degree felony.
