Dallas-Fort Worth Region Announces Multiple Transportation Infrastructure Projects
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is set to undergo significant transportation infrastructure improvements with several projects currently in various stages of development. Among these, Legacy Drive will be widened from Lebanon Road to Stonebrook Parkway, and Stonebrook Parkway itself will be expanded from Legacy Drive to 4th Army Drive. This project, funded by the city of Frisco with an estimated cost of $20 million, is currently in the design phase and construction is anticipated to commence later this year, with a timeline extending from fall 2026 to mid-2028. Additionally, FM 1385 from US 380 to Union Park Boulevard in Prosper is slated for widening to four lanes, including curbs and gutters. The Texas Transportation Commission has approved $38.2 million for this widening as part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 2027 Unified Transportation Program, though this is a plan and not a final allocation of funds.
