Louisville Metro Council Considers Amending Massage Therapy Ordinance to Address Licensed Therapists' Concerns
Louisville, Kentucky, is currently reviewing a proposed amendment to a massage therapy ordinance that was implemented on June 1. The original ordinance, passed last November, aimed to curb illicit massage businesses, particularly those potentially involved in human trafficking, by imposing strict regulations on all massage service providers. These regulations included mandatory registration with the city, fee payments, detailed record-keeping of employees and clients, and video surveillance at all entrances.
