New Hurricane Threats Emerge in Pacific Amid Hawaii's Recovery from Lala
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two new tropical disturbances in the Pacific Ocean, just days after Hurricane Lala caused significant damage in Hawaii. One system is expected to develop south-southwest of Mexico later this week, with an 80% chance of formation over the next seven days. The second system, located east-southeast of Hawaii, has a 50% chance of development within 48 hours and an 80% chance over the next week. Meanwhile, Hawaii continues to recover from Hurricane Lala, which brought historic rainfall, flooding, and power outages to the islands. Governor Josh Green highlighted the extensive damage in communities like Naalehu, Pahala, and Waiohinu, emphasizing the need for ongoing support.
