Pro-Park Campaign Outraises Opponents Seven-to-One in San Francisco's Great Highway Debate
Supporters of the Sunset Dunes park, campaigning against Proposition G which aims to reopen the Great Highway to vehicular traffic, have significantly out-raised their opponents. According to recent campaign finance filings for 2026, the 'No on G' campaign has accumulated $279,500. A substantial portion of these funds, $200,000, came from a single donor, Laura Yakovenko, wife of Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, in August. Other notable contributions to the 'No on G' campaign include $25,000 each from Miami-based investor Donald J. Edwards, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman, and the nonprofit Friends of Sunset Dunes. In contrast, the 'Yes on G' campaign, advocating for reopening the road, has raised approximately $38,000, primarily through smaller individual donations.
