New York City Doubles Individual Artist Grants to $10,000 Amidst Federal Funding Cuts
New York City has announced a significant increase in direct grants for individual artists, doubling the maximum award from $5,000 to $10,000. This marks the first change in this funding stream in approximately 20 years. The funds, totaling around $3.5 million cumulatively, will be distributed through each borough’s arts councils, which act as regrant partners.
