The administration is considering an executive order to establish a government-industry working group for evaluating AI systems before their release. The Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI), a rebranded version of the Biden-era AI Safety Institute, is partnering with major tech companies to assess AI models. This marks a significant policy reversal, as the administration had previously criticized similar oversight efforts.
