BRICS Meeting in Indore Focuses on Global Agricultural Issues
A five-day BRICS Agriculture Working Group meeting commenced in Indore, India, under the country's chairmanship. The meeting, which began on June 9, 2026, is set to address critical issues such as food security, climate-smart agriculture, agricultural trade, and farmer welfare. The conference will see participation from officials of BRICS member countries, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, among others. The discussions will continue until June 11, with agriculture ministers from these nations scheduled to meet on June 12 and 13 to finalize a joint declaration on cooperation. The meeting is part of India's broader initiative to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance cooperation among BRICS nations.
