Canonsburg Businesses Face Repeated Flooding Due to Persistent Culvert Issue
Businesses on West Pike Street in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, are experiencing recurring flooding due to a clogged culvert on McBurney Street. This marks the second flooding incident in less than two weeks and numerous times over the years, causing significant damage to properties. Businesses like Sunsational Tanning, Trunzo's TNT Cycles, Community Motors, Al's Discount Tire, and Metro Heating and Cooling have been affected, incurring costs and time for cleanup. Owners describe the area as a 'fishbowl' where debris washes down an alleyway, blocking drains and preventing water from receding. Following an August 5th flood, Canonsburg officials stated they received a $100,000 grant two years ago to address the issue, but more funding is likely needed to complete the project.
