Lee County Sheriff's Office Announces Over 100 Arrests and Significant Fentanyl Seizure in 'Operation: White Tide'
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno held a news conference to detail the outcomes of 'Operation: White Tide,' a major narcotics investigation. The operation led to the arrest of over 100 individuals involved in drug dealing. Authorities seized substantial quantities of illicit substances, including 4 kilograms of cocaine, 4 pounds of methamphetamine, 674 grams of ecstasy and oxycodone, 45 pounds of marijuana, and 1,780 grams of fentanyl. Additionally, the operation confiscated 51 firearms, $121,000 in cash, gold jewelry, and a Chrysler 300. Sheriff Marceno highlighted the critical impact of the fentanyl seizure, stating that 1,780,000 lives were potentially saved, given that one milligram of fentanyl can be lethal. The Drug-Homicide Investigation Team played a significant role in this effort, underscoring the commitment to preventing overdose deaths in Lee County. Marceno reiterated the county's zero-tolerance policy for drug dealers, vowing to apply the full force of the law against them.
