Australian Mining Firm Discovers High-Grade Rare Minerals in Namibia, Boosting Green Tech Prospects
Australian mining company Aldoro Resources Ltd has announced a significant discovery of high-grade rare minerals, specifically niobium and strontium, at its Kameelburg project in central Namibia. These minerals are crucial for modern technological applications, with strontium being used in high-performance magnets and niobium enhancing the strength and heat resistance of steel. The discovery has revealed a substantial deposit size, prompting Aldoro to secure N$39 million in funding to further explore the potential for a large-scale mining operation. This development positions Namibia as a key player in the supply of rare earth elements, which are essential for eco-friendly technologies such as wind turbines and electric vehicle batteries.
