Georgia Public Libraries Promote Card Sign-Up Month, Highlighting Extensive Resources and Community Impact
Georgia Public Library Service, in conjunction with libraries across Georgia, is actively promoting Library Card Sign-Up Month. This initiative aims to encourage residents to explore the wide array of free resources and services available through their local libraries. Libraries in Georgia offer diverse materials, including books in various formats, digital resources, and access to a statewide lending network called PINES, which connects 300 libraries and provides access to 11 million items. Beyond traditional book lending, libraries provide educational support for students from pre-K through college, offering tutorials, study guides, practice tests for standardized exams like the SAT and ACT, and assistance with college admissions essays.
