China's Digitization of Ceramic Heritage Aims to Preserve Cultural Artifacts
In Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, known as China's ceramics capital, a significant effort is underway to digitize millions of ancient pottery fragments. This initiative involves creating digital identities for these artifacts, allowing artificial intelligence to assist in reconstructing centuries-old ceramics. Researchers at the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Research Institute have scanned and digitized tens of thousands of pottery fragments, contributing to the world's first digital database of ancient ceramics. This project aims to preserve the historical values of Jingdezhen pottery and make them accessible to researchers worldwide.
