Duncanville Father Killed in Wrong-Way Crash by Accused Intoxicated Driver in Stolen Car
A 29-year-old father, Kenan Ellis, was killed in a wrong-way crash in Duncanville on September 3, just before midnight on Highway 67. Ellis was returning from a music video shoot with his two cousins, who sustained serious injuries but survived. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office reported that the wrong-way driver was operating a car stolen out of Irving. Police arrested 29-year-old Alexander Nunez, charging him with intoxication assault, intoxication manslaughter, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Nunez is currently in jail with a $110,000 bond and an immigration hold due to being in the country illegally. Ellis's uncle, Xavier Hicks, expressed profound grief, highlighting Ellis's journey to becoming the man he was meant to be, a future tragically cut short by the incident. The family is now raising money to support Ellis's two children.
