New Dallas Park Over I-35E Reconnects Community and Spurs Economic Development
Halperin Park, a new public park in Dallas, has been constructed over the I-35E highway, adjacent to the Dallas Zoo. This innovative project, developed through a public-private partnership involving the Southern Gateway Public Green Foundation, the City of Dallas, and the Texas Department of Transportation, aims to reconnect communities divided by the freeway. The park features a variety of public spaces, including a promenade, performance shell, pavilion, amphitheater, and gardens, designed to reflect the cultural history and geology of the Oak Cliff neighborhood.
