Maryland Secretary of State Susan Lee Participates in "ShanghaiEye Night" to Foster China-U.S. Cultural Exchange
Maryland Secretary of State Susan Lee was among the notable guests at the "Future Resonance — ShanghaiEye Night" event held in Washington D.C. This cultural exchange initiative, part of the "Shanghai Let's Meet" city promotion, aimed to strengthen people-to-people ties between China and the United States. The event featured an outdoor gala on the National Mall, showcasing traditional Chinese arts, contemporary works, and Western classics, performed by artists from both countries. Following the gala, a dinner at the Mayflower Hotel brought together artists, young people, business representatives, and community leaders. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng also attended, emphasizing the importance of cultural and youth exchanges, and highlighting President Xi Jinping's invitation for 100,000 young Americans to visit China over the next five years. The event underscored Shanghai's role in fostering friendly engagement and Maryland's pioneering efforts in bilateral subnational interactions.
