Tucson Nonprofits Receive $600,000 in City Grants for Workforce and Economic Growth Initiatives
The City of Tucson has distributed $600,000 in grants to 31 local nonprofits through its Economic and Workforce Development Program. These funds are allocated to organizations supporting youth and adult workforce development, small business growth, and community events that contribute to the local economy and celebrate Tucson's heritage. The program, established in 2010, aims to foster economic vitality and community well-being. Among the recipients, Intermountain Academy, which educates students on the autism spectrum, received $20,000 to support hands-on training and work-based learning experiences. JobPath, an agency assisting adult students in job training programs, received $100,000 to provide financial support and remove barriers to success, particularly in healthcare and industrial trades.
