Crystal Temptations Recalls Chocolate Eyeball Candy Due to Undeclared Milk Allergen Risk
Crystal Temptations, a New Jersey-based candy company, has issued a recall for its chocolate eyeball candy due to the presence of undeclared milk allergens. The recalled products, sold under the 'Crystal Temptations' brand in various packaging, were distributed across multiple states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming. These candies were available at major retailers such as Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post. The recall was initiated after an analyst monitoring TJ Maxx products discovered that the packaging failed to disclose the presence of milk. An subsequent investigation revealed that the issue stemmed from a 'temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.' As of August 31, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled candy.
