Triathlete Influencer Mara Flávia Drowns During Texas Ironman Competition
Mara Flávia, a 38-year-old Brazilian influencer and accomplished triathlete, tragically drowned during the swimming portion of the Ironman competition in Texas. The incident occurred in Lake Woodlands, where Flávia disappeared during the open-water swim, the first segment of the 140-mile race. Despite frantic rescue efforts, her body was recovered three hours later, having sunk to the bottom of the lake. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed her death and stated that their Major Crimes unit will continue the investigation as per standard procedures. Witnesses and volunteers described the panic and fear experienced during the search, with one volunteer recounting multiple attempts to locate her underwater.
