EasyJet Reports Surge in Bookings to Eclipse Destinations for 2027 Celestial Event
EasyJet has observed a significant increase in flight bookings to destinations within the path of totality for the upcoming 2027 total solar eclipse. The budget airline has dubbed this phenomenon the 'eclipse effect,' noting a 70% boost in bookings among British travelers to these specific locations. Astronomers are referring to the 2027 event as the 'eclipse of the century' because it is projected to be the longest total solar eclipse visible from easily accessible land until 2114, with totality lasting six minutes and 23 seconds at its peak in Egypt. In comparison, the 2026 eclipse had a maximum duration of two minutes and 18 seconds.
