Springfield's Animal Protective League Seeks Foster Homes After Storm Damage
The Animal Protective League (APL) in Springfield, Illinois, is seeking foster homes for its animals following severe storm damage to its facility. The storm, which may have included a tornado, caused extensive damage to the shelter, rendering it a total loss. Fortunately, no animals were injured, and many of the 155 dogs and cats have been moved to temporary homes. The APL is actively seeking individuals willing to foster these pets while the organization works to rebuild. A form for potential foster homes is available on their website. Additionally, the APL is accepting donations online, and local businesses are raising funds to support the nonprofit's recovery efforts. Jeff Cunningham, a representative of the organization, noted that while the shelter is destroyed, the clinic's condition is still being assessed. Despite the setback, the APL remains committed to its mission and plans to rebuild.
